How to Enable Daily Update in Slack

Daily update is a way for teams to share news and updates with one another via email, Slack or other communication channels. They’re a quick, efficient alternative to synchronous meetings and help teammates stay on top of work priorities while also giving everyone an avenue to discuss concerns and wins.

To enable daily updates, configure one of your Action’s intents as the triggering intent. Once configured, users who invoke that intent at their scheduled time will receive Assistant notifications at a later date, thereby subscribing to daily updates. You can provide a registration prompt mid-conversation or as a suggestion chip when the user exits your Action successfully. To personalize their daily updates, you can also allow them to submit custom parameters when they register the intent.

Be sure your user understands the value of your daily updates before offering them the option to subscribe. Also, don’t over-prompt them. Instead, offer the option only once or twice, and avoid repeating it in other contexts. For example, you could display the option right after showing them how they’ll benefit from your daily updates. You could then close the conversation without requiring any further input from your user. Daily updates appear as notifications on their device, so make them useful and engaging.
