The Late-Breaking Track at FEBS 2025

If your research is truly groundbreaking and would not have been available to submit by the general abstract deadline, you may be eligible for the late-breaking category. This special track focuses on large clinical trials and high-impact translational science that could not be completed by the general abstract deadline. All late-breaking abstracts are subject to the same rigorous review process as all other abstract submissions. Whether or not they are accepted, these abstracts will be presented as posters at the meeting.

Authors of an abstract deemed to be late breaking must provide the scientific rationale for why the study was not ready for submission by the regular deadline. This information will be shared with the abstract reviewers and program Co-Chairs and is used to inform their decisions. Authors must also sign a statement acknowledging that they understand the implications of presenting their research at this early stage and agree to abide by the AAN embargo policy until the full results are presented.

A late-breaking abstract cannot contain data that has been previously presented at a national meeting within the US at the time of abstract submission. Also, a late-breaking abstract may not be submitted to a future meeting or published in an online or PubMed-indexed venue at the time of abstract submission. Violators will be asked to withdraw their abstract.

If your abstract is accepted for a poster presentation or demo, you will be required to produce a physical poster in A0 (vertical) and bring it to the conference. Posters and demos will be displayed at specific poster stands as planned in the programme. Accepted late-breaking abstracts will be included in the HCII 2025 congress volumes and published as a FEBS Open Bio supplement after the meeting.
